Going to the waterfall of Monteverde in the San Luis valley is one of the most scenic nature activity including an adventures horseback ride and a nice hike in the jungle of the San Luis valley leading to the 300 m drop off waterfall.

This tour starts at 9 am by horse at the farm "Sabine's smiling horses". You will be picked up at your hotel. Our guide leads you up to Monteverde and  brings you down to the farmhouse in the valley of San Luis in about 2 hours. Here is the entrance point of a pleasant 45 min. hike to the waterfall. Along the path along to the river you will see many different species of butterflies. You might like to have lunch directly at the waterfall or along the river that you cross several times on your way and has many nice spots to have an enjoyable break.

The horses will wait for you when you come out of the forest. After a nice rest they will be happy to take you back home via Monteverde all along the spread out village.

This 6 to 7 hour tour costs $ 90 US including entrance fee of $ 10 US to the private reserve to the waterfall.

This ride is only for experienced riders!!! That means you are riding regularly over the year. It is not a difficult ride thinking about trails, but it is long hours on the horse including quite a bit of trotting parts.

This tour requires a minimum of 2 persons.
